  • Singapore is SUNny(:

The highlight of my visit to Singapore was supposed to be my (one and only) interview in NTU. I almost got lost and got scolded by the taxi driver. Luckily i arrived at the correct place. However, I waited a long time before the office was open so in the end I went to talk to one of the candidates from SAJC. The written test, gosh I was lucky to have such an easy topic for the essay. Anw, the interview itself went quite well i think. It was short but I managed to talk a lot despite few questions they asked -- or maybe they asked such few qns coz I talked alot haha.

Okay, so in the end there were 2 highlights, and none of them is the interview haha. First, my mom n dad, rhesa n me, we all went to Resort World. We took some pictures and saw the new casino -- didnt go in coz Im underage GAHH. At the end of the day we went to eat dinner at Marche vivocity. Had a quality time with my family and Rhesa.

Second highlight is of course the visit to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE! YAY! Since young (till now of course) Im crazy over theme parks. And the fact that it was just a soft opening, so not many people were there, just made my day! Despite a lot of technical problems that lead to a lot of rides not opened yet or not operating -- Transformers, Battlestar Galactica, Madagascar, Monster live in concert -- there were NO QUEUE at all for all sorts of rides from Jurassic Park to Revenge of the Mummy!

Here are the reviews of some of the rides (WARNING! CONTAIN SPOILERS!):

Jurassic Park: I expected the same jurrasic park ride as other US in LA and Japan have. However, I was wrong. It was a rapids adventure, so you are inside a round rubber boat, and the river is full of rapids. It was quite scary waiting for the final T-rex because it was just pure darkness for about a minute and then suddenly the boat went up (I didnt realize we were on an elevator), and got closer to the Trex mouth up there (the camera is there btw), before finally got thrown down to the river again and SPLASHED big time haha. Well no guarantee that youll get wet, depend on where you sit.

Donkey LIVE!: I expected a concert, like normal concert by animated Donkey from Shrek. But it was a live show! Like, not fake live show when the people rehearsed but really live. The animated donkey can move about and dubbed live right there! So Rhesa was saboed by the host! HAHAHA. At first the host asked boys to shout, then girls to shout, and then everyone ELSE to shout and Rhesa shouted then. HAHAHA. So the host was like saying "Weird, Sir!" haha n then "Good luck with that guy!" to me hahhaha. And inside the auditorium the host called up Rhesa again and he was asked by Donkey to imagine what sound would a Merlion make. So he went "RAWR" ahhahahhaa. And the Donkey thought his name was RASA hahahaha! That was fun to watch!

The Revenge of The Mummy: MY FAVOURITE RIDE! Really it is beyond awesome! We had to put our things in free locker first btw, since it is a rollercoaster-in-the-dark ride. The settings from the beginning of the queuing lines are awesome. Though we just gladly passed through all that because no queues. But even without queuing, we took almost 2 mins to finally enjoy the ride because they expect a long queue and built a very long line for people to queue. Dont worry, fully air-coned but it was very dark, as though they were preparing you for the total darkness you're about to face during the ride. The ride itself was really awesome!!! Scary, really, in a creepy and i-dunno-what-to-expect way. We went back to take the ride 3 times! HAHAHA. I bet you wont stand the queue if it's crowded and wont have time to take it even twice.

So that was 3 of many rides we took there. And because it was soft opening and many rides were not opened, they kind of compensate us with dining and souvenir vouchers, 10 and 5 bucks respectively per person. It was just nice for two of us. We shared a meal at Mel's Drive In (awesome chili burger and 70s atmosphere). And then ate early dinner at Loui's Pizza. Each meal costs about 10-12 bucks so just top up 1 or 2 bucks from the voucher. We bought ourselves matching US's keychain. When the soft opening is over, they wont give those vouchers anymore I think.

Anw, the New York road they built was awesome too. I went to touch a doorknob and suddenly there were sounds as though 2 people were fighting inside the shop ahhahaa. And I saw BAO HUI for 3 times! She was escourting the Betty Boop and Marylin Monroe. Many people queued to take pics with them, including me hahaha. Oh and I took like 300 pics ahhaahha! Because Rhesa brought along his pro camera yay! I took pics in almost every corner of US. So, it's enough to just see my US pics without going there :p

At the end of the day, (they closed at 6) I was freaking tired but satisfied! I was a child once again ahhahahha! OH AND I MUST MENTION THAT GINGY (the ginger bread from Shrek) IN ENCHANTED AIRWAYS RIDE IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE! Youve got to see it yourself there! He is the ticket officer, but he was sleeping haha. Or mayb sumday Ill post the pic of him here or FB.

Im gonna go there again to enjoy the rides Ive never tried before! HEHEHEHE. Good that they gave me motivation to go there again. If they were open already, I prob wont want to go again because the US in SG is seriously seriously small. Like, I can finish a round of walking (just walking without riding anything) through all the zones in less than 30 minutes, no make it 15 minutes! That's SG anw, small.

Im so gonna post all the nice pics! But have to wait for Rhesa to send me. Meanwhile, Im back! And I have a lot of chapters to study and catch-up! OH GOSH! But chinese is fun hehe, so Im off for now!!! (:

  • GASTRIC

Today, I almost died coz of my freaking gastric. So I didnt go to the mass today):

And he's back to Indo for holidays. I miss him.
Cant wait to meet in 10 days! (x

I didnt get in to UT Austin. Oh well, maybe Im not good enough. But thankfully that narrows down my choices. Instead of keeping options open, I secretly wish I have no choice but to go to somewhere. So I dont have to leave you, purposely...

I dont think Michigan accepts me as well coz I havent hear anything from them.

And everybody starts getting in to Singapore universities, so Im a bit worried as well.

I hope everything turns out well(((:

  • When asked about whether she is sure that her bf is the one, this is what Chewy said ( I really think it is worth quoting! ):
"It's not so much of how sure I am that he is the one, but how much I want him to be the one."

Being away in Beijing for a while has gotten me thinking about what I want to do in my life. Ive met many new friends from all ages and mindsets. I met an Australian girl, 34, lawyer, not married or have bf yet. Another one is Ireland girl, 25, has 6 years of relationship and have not think  about getting married at all. I met an Indonesian girl, 23, love to just be in a non-committal relationship. An Italian girl, 22, almost engaged to her bf already.

Ive asked them about their experiences in relationships, working, studying, life whatever. I got pretty good insights. Two of them told me to live up my life, without giving myself a timeframe for everything, like when I wanna get married or have kids. That will put me in a box, limiting myself. And they said, 20 years old is a very young age. So that got me thinking alot...

But, again, I got a lot of strengthening comments too about long distance. I kept on assuring myself that my choice is right, to be with whoever Im with right now. And this is quite easy, considering there is no close-to-even-potential eyecandy/bf/crush/whatever here.

Long distance is really hard. We're fighting day by day. Sometimes Im so tired, sometimes we shouted at each other, sometimes we just dont want to listen to each other. But I never, never, think of giving up just yet. And anw, Im going to SG in eleven days YAY! (((: So Im holding on, really hard.

About learning Chinese: It's really fun and I love learning language! And writing hanzis, being able to make sense of all the strokes! I hope I have improved a lot. Surely my speaking and writing improve, but its difficult to listen to beijing ppl speaking super fast, with lots of Rs! Im gonna keep on trying! (((:

PEOPLE, ENCOURAGEMENT FOR THE LDR PLEASE! HEHE :D
    buhbye!
